Tool Demonstrations
The aim of the ICST 2017 Demonstrations Track is to give the opportunity to the testing community to show and discuss new advances in testing supporting tools. This is highly interactive track where researchers and practitioners can experiment and discuss their tools with the attendees.
Demonstrations describe novel aspects of early prototypes or mature tools. The demonstrations must communicate clearly the following information to the audience:
- the envisioned users;
- the software testing challenge it proposes to address;
- the methodology it implies for its users; and
- the results of validation studies already conducted for mature tools, or the design of planned studies for early prototypes.
Demonstration provides the opportunity to communicate how the scientific approach has been implemented or how a specific hypothesis has been assessed, including details such as implementation and usage issues, data models and representations, APIs for tool and data access.
Evaluation
Each submission will be reviewed by at least two members of the organizing committee. The evaluation criteria include:
- the relevance of the proposed demonstration for the ICST audience;
- the technical soundness of the demonstrated tool;
- the originality of its underlying ideas;
- the quality of its presentation in the associated video; and
- the degree to which it considers the relevant literature.
Submission
Submissions should be performed electronically through EasyChair at https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=icst2017
Submissions of demonstrations must meet the following criteria.
- Each submission must be accompanied by
- A presentation with 5 slides:
- Title and authors
- Tool main goals
- Tool main contributions
- Tool capabilities
- Link for a short video
- A short video (five minutes long) illustrating the tool. The video should be made available online at the time of submission. Videos should
- Provide an overview of the tool's capabilities;
- Walk through (some of) the tool capabilities;
- Where appropriate, provide clarifying voice-over and/or annotation highlights; and
- Be engaging and exciting for the watcher!
There will be an award for the best Demonstration.
